Hardware
To enable Remote Diagnosis, Jifeline Networks has developed its own unique hardware. To enable a connection between car and remote diagnostics specialist, 2 hardware components are required: The 'J-ReX' Remote Diagnostic VCI in the workshop and a 'Jifeline Local' at the remote diagnostic specialist. When both of these are connected over the internet to the central Jifeline server, a secure 'tunnel' is opened, extending the car's OBD port to the remote diagnostics specialist's desk, so to speak.
All hardware and embedded software is developed and produced in-house by Jifeline Networks, with suppliers also located in the Netherlands. This has a positive effect on flexibility and hardware quality.
J-Rex remote diagnostics VCI
The J-ReX Remote Diagnosis VCI possesses a number of unique features that enable efficient remote diagnosis;
- Internet connection over Wi-Fi or via UTP cable
- Suitable for multi-channel CAN (up to 4-CAN buses in parralel)
- Suitable for K-Line, CAN BUS, DoIP and prepared for CAN FD
In addition, the J-Rex features a sturdy housing, several LEDs and a buzzer for feedback to the user in the workshop.
The J-ReX VCI can be branded with your own branding and various accessories are available such as a matching protective case.
Remote Diagnosis Locals
Locals are available in 3 different enclosures. This makes it easy to work in different locations, or to gradually grow your capacities and investments as your customer base grows.
Single housing
A small enclosure ideally suited for home working or for use alongside a 19" server rack.
4-local housing
The best-selling enclosure. Allows you to continuously connect up to 4 diagnostic devices to the Jifeline infrastructure. This allows you, via the partner dashboard, to easily switch between diagnostic devices or work on several cars at the same time.
The circuit boards that 'live' the OBD ports in the 4-local housing can be supplied separately. This makes it possible, for example, to start with 1 PCB (1 OBD port live) and expand further by placing additional PCBs. This allows you to easily scale up capacity as demand increases.
19" Server housing (for 10 locals)
The 19" housing is specially designed to be placed in a 19" server rack. It can hold 10 VCIs, allowing you to have up to 10 diagnostic tools continuously connected to the Jifeline server.
Connection to your own network is done via a single UTP cable and power cable. Via the supplied digital dashboard, if your remote technicians are within the same LAN network, they can switch VCI tools on or off separately.
