Does the J-TaB offer the same technical functionalities as the current remote interface?
Yes, the J-TaB offers the same technical functionalities as our current remote interface, plus additional convenient features. Built on our trusted and secure remote vehicle communication technology, the J-TaB delivers the same powerful diagnostic capabilities.
Is there a possibility for private label?
Yes, from 25 pieces upwards it is possible to have the J-TaB delivered in the partner's branding
Will the current remote interface be phased out?
No, you can continue to use your current remote interface if you wish. The J-TaB is designed to complement the existing remote interface, so you can choose between the two. Both products are fully future-proof, so it is mainly a personal choice.
The J-TaB combines our remote interface with a 10-inch display in a robust, workshop-proof housing, making access to the customer portal easier without a separate laptop, tablet or phone. It also offers the same powerful diagnostic capabilities as the current remote interface, giving you all the benefits in one device.
Is it possible to control other remote interfaces directly from the J-TaB?
Yes, you can. Once you log in to your J-TaB, you will also see other remote interfaces associated with your account. You can then select the remote interface you want to use for the service.
Can the J-TaB also be controlled from another device (mobile phone, laptop or tablet)?
Yes, you can. By logging into xxx.obd.help with your account from another device, you will see your J-TaB listed, along with other remote interfaces associated with your account. You can then select the J-TaB to run a service, in the same way as with your regular remote interfaces.
Can partners add other apps to the tablet?
A dedicated Device Management System (DMS) allows us to manage updates, software packages, etc. on the device. This provides additional security and allows us (or partners) to provide controlled additional services to customers.
However, this also means that partners cannot independently add apps to the tablet. This is always done in collaboration with us.
What are the ordering options for the J-TaB?
You can order the J-TaB in a case with foam inlay or in a cardboard box.
What is the expected delivery time after ordering the J-TaB?
The J-TaB can be ordered via pre-order from 1 November, and first deliveries are expected in late Q1 / early Q2 2026.
Can the J-TaB be connected to 5 GHz WiFi?
Yes. Both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (the current remote interface only supports 2.4 GHz).
What is the difference in connecting the current remote interface to the internet compared to the J-TaB?
The current remote interface always requires an additional device, such as a phone, tablet or laptop, to establish an internet connection.
In addition, the current remote interface can only be stored on one Wi-Fi network. When the paired device is used in another location, the connection must be reset.
The J-TaB works differently. It connects to the internet via the built-in user interface on the tablet, which resembles that of a personal smartphone. This makes it familiar and easy to use. The J-TaB can also automatically connect to multiple Wi-Fi networks stored in its memory.
Does the J-TaB have 4G connectivity?
The J-TaB has a SIM card slot, so you must insert your own SIM card and have an active data bundle to use it. Note that eSIMs and 5G are not supported (for remote diagnostics, 5G offers no practical advantage over 4G).
Does the J-TaB come with charger?
The J-TaB can be charged via USB-C. It is also possible to order an operational dock system that can be used to charge the J-TaB. In addition, the J-TaB is charged during operation when the OBD cable is connected to the vehicle.
What is the warranty period of the J-TaB?
The standard warranty is one year from the date of purchase by the user.
Why does the J-TaB use 4G and will it be supported in the future?
The J-TaB is designed for reliable, long-distance connectivity, not for maximum speed. Although 5G offers higher bandwidth, the range is limited. Our devices prioritise stable 4G connections for consistent performance wherever needed. 4G offers sufficient speed for the J-TaB application and will continue to be supported for the foreseeable future.
